About

I’m Mike Burbidge, a software engineer in Nashville. I take ideas that have already proven their value, whether they live in a spreadsheet, a process, or a prototype, and build them into systems that run in production.

I’ve built software in one form or another since 2006, but the work that defines me is more recent. Since 2022 I’ve focused on the logic that has to be correct: I built calculation logic for a Fortune 500 serving global tax-compliance platform, where every result had to hold up across more than 60 jurisdictions and survive an audit. And when a marketing firm’s Excel tool that I built outperformed a top strategy consultancy for their Fortune 1000 client and saved tens of millions, I rebuilt it into the scalable platform they run in production today. The platform was cleared by a professional penetration test with zero findings.

I build with AI every day. That’s exactly why I know where its output can be trusted and where it can’t, and it’s increasingly the work founders bring me: AI-built prototypes that need to become real.

How I work: one client deep at a time. Fixed prices you approve before work starts. Findings in writing, in business language, with evidence attached.
